Sorry folks, but since I am playing a game with copy-righted music, I chose to take it down in fear of being attacked by the SME. No thanks.

From the Nintendo Vault: Super Mario 64
"From the Nintendo Vault" is a feature in which I will pick a game from Nintendo's library of games and review them.
Now, I'm a Nintendo kid. My first console was the Nintendo 64, and it still works to this day. It was part of their Funtastic series, and it was the Fire-Orange color. I have a backup which is a original copy. My second console I personally owned was a Gamecube, and it was a special copy that came with "The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition" and I'm still working through that one!
It came with the original NES Zelda, it's sequel, Ocarina of Time, and it's sequel and a short demo for Windwaker (which is my favorite Zelda, and serious contender for my favorite game). So, that is my background on Nintendo, and the first game I ever finished and game owned was the game we are looking at today.
Super Mario 64
Intro: The game starts off with a weird Mario head, which you could screw around with and make his head all shrunk and make him bug eyed. Good times. You then go into a save screen where you choose a save and start the game.
Starting Scene: This scene needs talking about for just how good it was. It starts with letter from Princess Peach inviting our favorite plumber over to the castle for some "cake" (obligatory sex reference). Then comes in the memorable entrance. A Lakitu Brother comes flying in with a camera on the end of a fishing line, does a fly around the castle, and focuses on Mario jumping out of a pipe, and says this.
“Good afternoon. The Lakitu Bros., here reporting live from just outside the Princess's castle. Mario has just arrived on the scene, and we'll be filming the action live as he enters the castle and pursues the missing Power Stars. As seasoned cameramen, we'll be shooting from the recommended angle, but you can change the angle by pressing the Buttons."
We then find out the Power Stars of the castle are missing, and that Bowser has stolen them! OH NOES. It is then up to you, as the player and Mario, must collect the stars and rescue the princess for that "cake".
Controls: Pitch perfect. Moving as Mario has never felt better. He turns on a dime, jumping feels sublime, even though going from moving to standing still and punching is kinda weird. The only issue I have is the Lakitu Bros. camera control. Compared to today's standards, the camera is clunky and slow, and feels weird. But it's still a blast to jump around as Mario, if you are staring into the side of a mountain.
Music: So memorable. With classics like "Bom-Omb Battlefield" "Dire, Dire Docks" And "Slide Theme"
You seriously cannot go wrong with this game's music. It's full of whimsy and wonderment that you can't be hating on it.
Gameplay: It's Mario. You should know this by now, but if you don't, Super Mario 64 is a 3D platformer (one of the first to do it correctly), where you jump, climb, slide, and smash enemies in order to find Power Stars, 60 out of which you need to fight Bowser and finish the game. The castle is a hub-world, allowing you to run around it and jump into portraits (sometimes in rooms, others in halls) which are the worlds in were you find the stars. Once you have 8, 30, and 60 stars, you can enter 3 "Bowser" worlds, which ordinarily have tough platforming sections, and the big fight against Bowser.
In Short: Super Mario 64 is a fantasic game, with so many things to be praised, like the music and revolutionary 3d platforming, that its shortcomings are shadowed. Go buy a Nintendo 64, a copy of this, and have a ball.
I'm Darahas, for politcally (in)correct gamers saying, until next time.

Apologies to Drew Brees
Our editorial board would like to send our deepest apologies to Mr. Drew Brees, for inaccurately reporting that Drew Brees asked a reporter "What's that big blue thing above the stadium?" We have new information that quote was actually said by Mr. Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers. Sorry about that Mr. Brees...
Cam Newton is a joke.
Get the FUCK out of here.

Holder Knew More than He Claimed
This article goes to show that Eric Holder is a lying piece of shit. According to the Daily Caller,
Wow, but of course, despite being informed that Fast and Furious guns were used in the murder of Brian Terry on the DAY of his murder, Eric Holder knew nothing about it:Burke forwarded those two emails to Holder’s then-deputy chief of staff Monty Wilkinson later that morning, adding that the incident was “not good” because it happened “18 miles w/in” the border.Wilkinson responded to Burke shortly thereafter and said the incident was “tragic.” “I’ve alerted the AG [Holder], the Acting DAG, Lisa, etc.”Then, later that day, Burke followed up with Wilkinson after Burke discovered from officials whose names are redacted that the guns used to kill Terry were from Fast and Furious. “The guns found in the desert near the murder BP officer connect back to the investigation we were going to talk about – they were AK-47s purchased at a Phoenix gun store,” Burke wrote to Wilkinson.
Simply amazing, he's not even that good of a liar, yet he still got away from perjury charges. Four more years of Obama will only mean four more years of bullshit like this.Holder has faced difficult questions surrounding the question of when he was first informed of the gunwalking program. He testified in Congress that he had only learned of Fast and Furious a “few weeks” before a May 3, 2011, House Judiciary Committee appearance.Holder has since walked back that “few weeks” comment, amending it to more of a “couple months.”
Now Playing: Left 4 Dead 2
This game can be so god damn addicting, especially when you are playing with friends. I mean really addicting, and fun, since I play with the best of friends. If you don't have this game yet, then well, buy it. Its absolutely fun on Versus mode and its a blast to play with friends. Sure, the game can piss you off sometimes, from the bugs to the occasional lag; but overall, its a great game. PLAY. IT. NOW.

Elevator: Source
Elevator: Source, what can I say about it? Made by the people who created the Gmod Tower lobby gamemode, and is quite a neat experience. Comical in a sense, and seems like this is going to be maintained.
Why I Can't Stand ESPN
I'll admit it, I check out ESPN's every day for the latest sports news, but I'm starting to wonder why I do that. Sure, I have an insider account which allows to me access some neat content. But otherwise, there really isn't anything special about ESPN's own site, or the channel itself. I can get all the sports news I need from Yahoo Sports, CBS Sports, NFL.com, and MLB.com. And the NFL network is vastly superior to ESPN (TNF> MNF). NFL Network employs football legends Kurt Warner, Michael Irving, Marshall Faulk, and Deion Sanders, just to name a few. Sure, ESPN has some football greats like Mike Ditka and Steve Young, but they also employ HORRIBLE players like Trent Dilfer and Matt Millen. I personally prefer NFL Network because those guys try to have fun, know what they're talking about, and they don't try to have politically correct conversations like ESPN does. NFL network is fun to watch, ESPN is just plain boring.
My main problem with ESPN is this article right here. In this trash article, the author laments at how Prince Fielder is being paid millions of dollars while the city of Detroit is still suffering. Newsflash to ESPN, the City of Detroit is suffering because of its liberal policies that you and others always advocate. ESPN's political biases can be seen elsewhere, such as its firing of Hank Williams Jr. over his non-existent comparison between Obama and Hitler. ESPN, however, did not fire Jemele Hill for comparing Joe Calipari to Charles MansonThey also forced Rush Limbaugh to resign from his position over comments over the Donovan McNabb, who does suck by the way. While ESPN's political biases are obvious, so is its bias against sports teams. They always cover the big named teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, Patriots, and Lakers, but never any other "smaller" teams like the Bengals or Browns. It also exhibits bias in its rather non-existent coverage of MMA. In fact, I remember ESPN comparing Michael Vick's dog fighting scandal to the UFC! It's commentators are also incredibly biased, from Bill Simmons to former ESPN employee Keith Olbermann. Yeah, I don't think I have to say anymore about Keith Olbermann. It's Obama loving, big team loving is obvious, and it alienates me and many others from the network.
What does ESPN have that its competition have? Well, the always controversial Skip Bayless, the attractive Erin Andrews, and oh uhm well, Bill Simmons (does anybody care about him?). ESPN also features 24/7 Tim Tebow coverage and 24/7 non-coverage of MMA, along with 24/7 dull coverage of day's biggest sports news stories. Yeah, I won't be visiting ESPN's site for a while. Comment why you hate ESPN below.

Fail of the Day
Of course this happened in Kentucky. I find it odd that it happened on the same day the casino deck in downtown Cincinnati collapsed. A bit of a coincidence, but they are both epic fails. Completely fail.
For the First Fail, a ferry just fucking rammed into a bridge and destroyed it. You can tell it literally demolished the old bridge. Utterly destroyed it. Thankfully, no one was hurt while this ferry decided to run right through this bridge. It will probably be years before this bridge is back up and running again. Dumb Asses. You can Read more here.
For the second fail, a casino floor collapsed today, injuring a few workers and it will likely delay the new casino in downtown Cincinnati yet again. You can read more here.
Grappling Article!!!
Special Grappling Article!!!
First part of this article was written by Golem. The second is written by me.
Introduction
Often overlooked by many who grapple is the stand up phase. Especially those who study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu will soon find out that they are lacking. The truth is, where they have made improvements in their technique and form, they have also forgotten their past. By doing so they have given way to their “Achilles heel” of sorts; to be a grappler means to be ready for combat at all times. In other words, BJJ will focus on the ground more often than standing up and this will leave the practitioner to doom when faced with a proficient judoka. The same could be said for the judoka who dares roll with a BJJ guy. The reason for this is because BJJ comes from Judo. When BJJ was created, they did away with a lot of the knowledge from judo. From this they are only half the equation, to fully understand the art of BJJ would mean to understand judo, for both are from the same tree. A good student will always respect where their knowledge comes from. A good throw or takedown is just as important as a good armbar or rear naked choke. No grappling art is perfect, but it is paramount that one takes notice of every part of the game and plays well.

The Standup
First what must be established is a good stance, in judo a wide stance is best for when a partner is practicing. On the street, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has taught us that a combative mindset is key to survival. We must get up a certain way, stay out of bad positions when we can, and stand in a way that is not only athletic but also practical. In both Judo and BJJ posture is very important. If one is slouched down or has their weight in a certain direction, they will be toppled over with ease. However we can see that the clinch and gi manipulation is virtually the same in both disciplines. In BJJ one is given less instruction on the many methods of breaking an opponent’s grip and the many ways to grip them, granted practice is varied by school and instructor. The main problem is that, for the most part one is very limited standing up. One should not be rigid but very calm, and only tense at the exact moment when the throw is initiated. In order to get to this point, one must simply break the balance and rhythm of the opponent to get them to a position of weakness. One’s own leverage and technique then would force them over, and the technique will further the impact. The clinch must be loose, but also strong. A good throw takes a lot of work. So what must be done? The simple answer is practice! Stand proud and strong, and be dominant. Get a good grip, fight for it and then put them off their balance.

The Clinch
Getting a superior grip is like a game of tug of war. It is a battle with the opponent, in order to get to a better throwing position. Those with more knowledge, like that of a judoka have many different methods of attaining their grip, and then also breaking posture with it. However a grip such as a double lapel grip (http://www.jimmypedro.com/images/gripping09.jpg) can be used for certain techniques, but at the same time is left open to countering. The point is, no grip is perfect but there are different ways to accomplish the same thing, which is getting them to the ground quickly. Learning different grips is only a way of learning how to throw better and differently and could help any grappler. Trying unusual grips and throws on someone who is less experienced in such a technique may give the grappler a “one up” in the ring. Such old traditional techniques still have validity today, if executed properly.

The Throw
So now we have a good stance and a good grip on them. Maybe we want to go for Osoto Gari,(http://www.judoonline.de/bilder/wuerfe_o-soto-gari.jpg) However just because we have them off balance and we are in a dominant position does not we are out of trouble yet. A good BJJ fighter may pull guard on the judoka mid throw. Or the skilled judoka may move out of the way. There are many variables involved with the throw. One must practice continuously in order to master a throw, and then must continue to practice in order to maintain such knowledge. As this sort of training is a perishable skill. So when we grapple, with our grip, just like on the ground with BJJ we keep body contact, chest on chest. We want to maximize our weight distribution. We keep a good posture, our chin up and then we move in to position, as we use leverage and force to put them off balance. Then with our technique they are swept up and we put them down. This could be the end of the fight, or it could be just half the game. We either stop, or go to the ground and finish it. It’s always important to remember, we wouldn’t be on the ground in the first place without our good standup, and it’s even more important to remember that we would be the one on the ground first without it!

Grappling for self defense
Ok now we move onto an area I am very familiar with. Using grappling to help defend yourself against an attacker(s). While many self defense instructors advise not going to the ground (as I have advised in my previous article on Krav Maga), grappling can be a very useful tool in your self defense arsenal. One such example is found in both Sambo and BJJ. The ability to get to your feet as fast as possible if need be. This can prove to be very helpful in the event that you trip, or are taken down by your attacker. Having this ability allows you to decide if you need to get to your feet a.s.a.p or if you can finish the fight on the ground. This is just one tool that grappling gives you, that you can use in a self defense situation. Now let's move onto an offensive approach to self defense. This may sound contradictory since "self defense" should be defensive only, right? It completely depends on the situation you are in. If you have to ability to walk away from the fight, then do so; but if you are trapped, and the only way to end the fight is with the attacker incapacitated, then grappling gives you the tools you need to end the fight as quickly as possible. Throws are one of the best ways to end a fight quickly, being that most fights take place on hard surfaces. Judo and Sambo have incorporated many different throws into their styles, so if you are interested in a standup based grappling art, look for a Sambo or Judo school/dojo. Using almost any throw taught in Sambo or Judo can be used to stop a fight quickly. Think of a time when you landed on your back on a solid surface. You probably got the wind knocked out of you, and it hurt like crazy. Now multiply that by 10 or so. That is what happens when you use a properly timed throw against an assailant. This impact will end the fight 99% of the time. If not, then the person you are fighting is one of the following 1) A meth head, 2) The Hulk, or 3) A super natural being. We've seen how throws can change the outcome of a fight, now let's look at how we can use our ground game to finish an attacker. In Sambo and BJJ, they primarily focus on ground fighting, so these would be good to study if you are interested in ground fighting. And they provide tools that can be used to defend yourself. Let's say your perfectly timed judo throw did not finish the fight. We must now move quickly to stop our attacker from being able to cause us harm. If you are fairly proficient at sambo or BJJ, you are thinking about what submission move to use. This is where I will give some insight. In the fights that I have been in, that required me to go to the ground, I use whatever move corresponds to the part of their body that I am closest to. So if I am on the ground, and he is attempting to pass my guard, but he has an arm inside. I will use an arm bar. Sambo and BJJ also offer a variety of chokes that can be used to hold or kill your attacker depending on the situation. This is what's so great about these 2 styles of fighting. They give you tools that you can use in any situation. If you are dealing with some school bully, and you are not in any life threatening harm, then you can use say a rear naked choke to hold him. Say, "if you try and get away, I'll tighten this and you'll be out." That usually makes most people comply. If someone throws a punch (right haymaker as most people without any training throw), you can use the sankaku-garami from Judo to bring him to the ground and hold him there.

Truth of the Day
Europe gets Downgraded... Again
Fitch just downgraded Spain, Italy, Belgium, Cyprus, and Slovenia, which will probably kill the stock markets again. Should be fun to watch. And just think, this is coming our way because Obama is spending us to oblivion.

Romney Puts Gingrich in his Place
Gingrich was pushing his partial amnesty crap during the Jacksonville debate, meanwhile accusing Romney of being the most "anti-immigrant" candidate. Romney did not take to kindly to that...
Amazing, simply amazing. I have been waiting for Romney to finally defend himself, and I think he did that during this debate.

ABC News Exclusive: Romney failed to disclose Income of.... $1,700!!!
UNBELIEVABLE, HOW COULD HE FORGET TO DISCLOSE $1,700 FROM A SWISS BANK ACCOUNT THAT WAS CLOSED IN 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I find it remarkably funny how these motherfuckers make a big deal about this. For example:
Wow, calling for penalty on overlooking income of $1,70. Amazing, this article makes you to want to an hero. That suggests, Allison said, that the campaign had a motivation to exclude any evidence of the Swiss account from the candidate's forms. The Romney campaign called the omission an oversight.Allison noted that there is generally no penalty for a candidate who leaves something off a disclosure report, and then goes back to amend the report if the missing information is discovered."Nobody is going to get into trouble for this," he said. "That is the problem with the disclosure system."

Oliver Stone supports.... Ron Paul?!?
Oliver Stone, the liberal movie director who has made some good movies, has said he would support Ron Paul over Barack Obama. I just find this to be very interesting, given Ron Paul's stance on the government and Stone's love for Hugo Chavez.

GIANTS-PATRIOTS SUPER BOWL REMATCH!!!
This is going to be EPIC!!!! Absolutely cannot wait for this game!! For right now, I'm predicting that the Giants will narrowly beat the Patriots; but Tom Brady might become the third QB in history to win 4 Super Bowls, along with Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw, if he continues to play like he has been playing. Who do you guys have to win?

Let's Play: Borderlands! And future plans.
So...
Before I joined this blog, I did a borderlands let's play. It only got one episode in, and I killed it. I also ran under "Aharan" for the time, as that is what I use perodically. I run as Darahas/Aharan so I might use both. I thought I might as well bring it back.
www.youtube.com/user/Aharan648
As for the future, Dokutsu Monogatari is still going to be played, but I think under the Curly Story option, instead of Cave Story, and the Half-Life 2 saga will be played after I finish up Borderlands as Brick.
And as the final planned Let's Play(s) for the moment, is a intertwining of Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII and L.A Noire when I get it in February.
Also, if you guys request it enough, I might go ahead and play through the Serious Sam's through Second Encounter. Ugh.
Plus, keep checking it out for some Beat Hazard, CS:S and Garry's Mod in the future.
Enjoy!

"Plan To Restore America": Not Bad
Ok, I was looking over Ron Paul's "Plan to Restore America" on his campaign website, and was impressed. The plan, notably, does not gut defense (as much) as commentators have openly feared. The plan basically cuts funding for the wars and brings down defense spending to $501 Billion, with most of the savings coming from cutting our overseas expenditures. The plan also gets rid of the Departments of Energy, Interior, Commerce, Education, and Housing and Urban Development. It also gets rid of the Estate Tax, the Obamacare taxes, and the Capital Gains/ Dividends tax, while dropping the corporate tax rate to 15%. Honestly, I like this plan, but will this plan ever pass if Ron Paul became president? I hope it does, but considering the reaction we got when we tried to cut Planned Parenthood, it's definitely going to be hard to eliminate those sections of government.

The Republicans have already Fucked up the 2012 elections
Newt, the Anti-Christ |
If we want any chance of beating Obama, we have to rally behind Mitt Romney before Newt and the others destroy him. This primary has gone on for too long and the candidates are ruthlessly going after each other. Unless people decide to start a huge write-in campaign, Mitt Romney is our best shot. Unless conservatives realize this and Nominate HIM now, Obama will easily win re-election because the GOP candidates would have completely destroyed each other before they took on Obama. People need to get behind Romney and start defending against the Class Warfare claims put against him. We also need to turn our attentions to the economy, jobs, and Spending. Those issues gave us the House in 2010, and they will give us the White House in 2012 if we again make them the primary issues. Obviously Mittens has problems like Romneycare and the fact that he doesn't defend himself well enough. But he is more conservative than most people think and he has the best shot at beating Obama. America will not survive another four years of Obama, so we cannot afford to nominate Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum*. The NO Romneys must become the YES Romney's soon, or else we will have no candidate to put up against Barack Obama.
*Ron Paul could probably beat Obama, but I doubt he will be nominated...
Dio: Holy Diver [REVIEW]
Ronnie James Dio is probably best known for his run with heavy metal pioneers Black Sabbath. However, some may also know him from his project beforehand with Ritchie Blackmore (or, if you're a real fan, then maybe even from the Elf period), of Deep Purple, who joined together to form Rainbow. After Dio left Rainbow, he went on to join Black Sabbath, and helped the band release some of their most memorable work. After he left Sabbath, he decided to pursue a solo career to show people that he could make music on his own perfectly well. Holy Diver, Dio's debut album, shows that very clearly. While it's not the best metal album of all time, it certainly has its memorable moments. Holy Diver is the band's most well received album, while the others are generally received as failures (relatively) by critics. Some tracks on the album really stand out from the others- namely, Holy Diver, Rainbow In The Dark, and Stand Up and Shout. The rest of the songs are good, with the only 'bad' song being Invisible. Rainbow In The Dark went on to become a surprise hit, landing at #14 on the US Mainstream Rock Charts (while Holy Diver only reached #40.) The song has been used in multiple venues, such as the popular game Rock Band 3.
Overall, this is an amazing album. Ronnie James Dio influenced so many artists in his career, and appeared on albums from numerous bands, ranging from Black Sabbath to Tenacious D. Unfortunately, he passed away last May. RIP Ronnie James Dio, one of the greatest metal vocalists of all time.

The Top 10 World War 2 Tanks(IMO.)
10. The T-34(U.S.S.R). The T-34 tank was used massively in World War 2, It was a Soviet Medium tank, And was introduced in 1941 before the Germans committed Operation: Barbarossa(Invasion of the U.S.S.R.)
9.The Carro Amato L6(Italy). The Carro was used by the Italians, Although outclassed, It was continued to be used in North Africa, The Balkans, The Eastern Front, And Italy unil the end of World War 2.
8.The Churchill(Britian). The Churchill was used as a Infantry support tank by the British. Used in almost all theatres of war the British fought in, It wasn't very reliable however and often broke down.
7.The JS-4(U.S.S.R). The JS-4(Josef Stalin 4) tank was used as a spearhead for the Soviet tank forces on the Eastern front, After the battle of Kursk a larger gun then the 85 mm was needed. The Soviets came up with this.
6.The Sherman/Medium Tank M4(Britian, U.S, U.S.S.R(To a extent). One of the most widely produced tanks in World War 2, The M4 was used by both the British and the Americans, And to a extent, the Soviets.
5.Pz. Kpfw. Maus(Germany). The Maus, although never seeing combat, Its armor would've have made it almost invinsible to any anti tank or tank gun of its day. But it would've been almost impossible to move due to its poor mobility. It would have been used by the Germans.
4.Char B1(France). The Char B1, A French Tank(Never thought the French would make it on this list, Would you?) After WW1, The French wished to modernize its tank forces.
3.Tiger Tank(Germany). The Tiger Tank was used by German forces in World War 2 and is considered one of the greatest tanks in it. It first saw action in 1942 and was the first mass produced heavy tank the Germans did.
2.Pz. Kpfw. I(Germany). The first mass produced tank the Germans did after WW1, This tank played a important part in the German victories of Poland and France.
1.Pz Kpfw Panther(Germany). The Panther was the first true main battle tank of the German army in WW2, The combination of its armor(Sloped), Its powerful gun and great mobility made it the best, In my opinion, Tank of World War 2.
HONORARY MENTION:
The Type 95 Ha-Go Tank(Japan). These tanks were the most numeriously produced tanks the Japanese made in WW2, It was used throughout the war.

Hollywood Is Pissed at Obama over Opposition to SOPA
From Deadline Hollywood
Hollywood executives are furious at Obama over his opposition to SOPA/PIPA.
Hollywood executives are furious at Obama over his opposition to SOPA/PIPA.
Alarmed by the mogul boycott, Sarandos sent a personal plea to the Hollywood studio chiefs over the weekend begging them to continue supporting the Obama re-election campaign even though he knows they are disappointed with the Obama administration’s position on the piracy bills. Several moguls, in response, ”sent back word saying ‘Fuck You’ basically,” one insider tells me, expressing how they feel used and abused by the President despite their campaign contributions.I'm glad to see Hollywood is now attacking Obama, but it also shows what fucking hypocrites the liberals in Hollywood are. They want the RICH to pay more TAXES, which is essentially taking away somebody's money or property and distributing. But when pirates illegally download their music or movies (taking money away from Hollywood) they are all up in arms. But hey, Hollywood is on a lifeline thanks to horrendous showings at the movie theaters (and terrible movies). But its a Win-Win for us conservatives, for Hollywood would still be damaged by piracy and now Hollywood supposedly is furious at Obama.

This could be the internet... STOP SOPA NOW
Every Site is Blacking Out...
In protest of SOPA and PIPA, Wikipedia, Google, Reddit (who cares), and other sites have blacked out today in order to "raise awareness". I don't know why huge sites are taking such drastic measures, considering the bills will not pass. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor has already shelved SOPA, the Obama Administration has voiced its displeasure of the bill, and Rand Paul has pledged to filibuster PIPA in the Senate. SOPA will not pass in the House because it does not have enough support and Party leaders disapprove of the bill. It could pass in the senate, but so could a budget, but the Senate hasn't passed a budget in two years or so. So NO, this blog will not black out today...
