Ridiculous Incident Involving Arizona 'Humane' Society

To sum it up- recovering drug addict takes his cat, Scruffy, to the Arizona 'humane' society to get a non-life threatening injury fixed up. He doesn't have the funds to pay, and his mother offers to pay over the phone by credit card immediately, or wire money to him, which will get there in 24 hours. The Society refuses this, and says they need the money now. The only way option they gave him was to surrender his cat to them, so he did. Just a few hours later, the cat was euthanized, due to 'lack of doctors.' He had handfed the cat since birth, and it was one of his main coping mechanisms. Now, there is severe backlash against the Arizone Humane Society.

Is this ridiculous or what?
